01 The brief
A launch budget with no time for a slow learning phase, and a client convinced their discount was the story.
02 The brainstorm
The discount angle is the one every restaurant runs, which is why it costs the most to win with.
We wrote three angles instead: scarcity (the room only has eleven tables), ritual (what the regulars order without looking), and price. Four hooks under each, one format, so twelve statics that differ in exactly one variable at a time.
Ritual won and price came last. The client's instinct was the losing angle, which is the entire argument for testing rather than debating.
03 The build
Twelve statics built from a single Figma component set so a new variant takes minutes. Copy written first, layout second.
04 The result
Cost per booking fell by more than a third within two weeks, and the winning creative ran for five months before fatiguing.
